Penn State Sends First Book Shipment to Google

Mar 20, 2009

The Penn State library has sent its first shipment of books to be digitized by Google as part of the CIC's partnership with the Google Book Search Project. Among the volumes are Penn State's distinctive English and American literature collections.

Penn State is the fifth CIC university to ship holdings to Google for digitization, joining Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. Ultimately, 10 million volumes from all 12 CIC member universities will be scanned.
