Students: CIC/Smithsonian Fellowship Applications Now Available

Nov 18, 2010
A groundbreaking partnership between the Committee on Institutional Cooperation and the Smithsonian Institution will enable six CIC students to serve one-year fellowships to support research in residence at Smithsonian Institution facilities.

Fellowships carry a stipend of $30,000. All fields of study that are actively pursued by the museums and research organizations of the Smithsonian Institution are eligible.

To be eligible, students must have completed all course work for their programs, and must have been admitted into doctoral candidacy and satisfied all requirements except completion of the dissertation in order to qualify.

Applications are now available; students must contact the graduate school at their CIC institution for more information and/or to obtain an application. Each university will nominate one applicant for the CIC/SI competition; six students will be selected by the Smithsonian Institution for the CIC/SI Fellowship.

Applicants will be notified of the award decision by January 1.
