New York Times Mentions CIC in Jan. 30 Article

Feb 01, 2010
An article in the Jan. 30 edition of the New York Times about the Big Ten Conference studying potential expansion plans included discussion of the role academics play in the Conference - and a mention of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation's relationship with the athletic league.

"Big Ten members also belong to the Committee on Institutional Cooperation, a pooling of resources and research opportunities that includes the University of Chicago," reporter Jere Longman wrote.

The NYT interviewed Ohio State University president E. Gordon Gee, who said: "It’s significant that we have institutions that meet the academic standing and reputation of institutions now in the Big Ten."
