UBorrow

UBorrow

The Big Ten Academic Alliance libraries' UBorrow service offers rapid access to over 90 million books from the collections of 15 university libraries in the Midwest and the Center for Research Libraries. Books requested through UBorrow will typically arrive on campus within a week and can be checked out for 12 weeks, with an option for a 4-week renewal. The relative proximity of Big Ten Academic Alliance partners, as well as the commitments made by each institution, allows books to be delivered through UBorrow far more rapidly than they usually are through traditional interlibrary loan programs.

The Big Ten Academic Alliance libraries selected Relais D2D to support this service. Relais D2D (Discovery-to-Delivery) is a next-generation software platform for consortial borrowing from Relais International.  In the Big Ten Academic Alliance implementation, Relais D2D passes the availability information for requests to each library’s local ILL system, ILLiad.  The library staff manage all requests via their respective ILLiad system.  Atlas Systems and Relais International are working together to support this feature.

UBorrow enables library patrons to search for and request books directly from:
